NYC Guide: Gina la Fornarina

If you live in New York City, you are already well aware of the infatuation regarding a Saturday or Sunday Brunch. While this meal most often occurs with a group of girls, I've noticed that the fad has become popular with a lot of my male friends, as well. All in all, it's just a great reason to get together over a ton of food - and sometimes a ton of drinks! (There are a myriad of places in NYC that offer drink specials for brunch! Check out some spots here: Boozy Brunch).

Some delicious breakfast treats that I had at my last apartment-hosted brunch.

Last weekend, some of my family members came into NYC from Long Island to meet me for a Saturday afternoon brunch at Gina la Fornarina on the Upper East Side (there's one on the Upper West, as well).

Though their decor is a little too girly for my taste (it's pink EVERYWHERE), the food is astounding. And that's the main concern. We ordered an array of dishes, spanning from simple side breakfast foods like bacon, to full Italian meals, like ravioli. For examples of some of their tasty meals, all of which we tried, see below:

This french toast was stuffed with ricotta cheese! Unreal.

"Roses are red. Bacon is red. Poems are hard. Bacon."

Standard thin crust pizza. Can't go wrong!

Butternut Squash Ravioli. Dee-lish. (My 13 month old nephew housed half of this dish - and quickly). It was that good.

In addition to Gina la Fornarina having great food, we also chose this spot because they are currently featured as one of the restaurants on Restaurant.com. On this site, I purchased a $100 voucher to Gina for only $16. Yes, you read that correctly. $100 for $16. There are amazing deals available on this website. Be sure to check out both Restaurant.com and Gina la Fornarina very soon!

And grab a mimosa. Or four.

Cheers!

xoxo
